Hi, I'm Kat.
Kat Zamot, M.Ed., CALC
ADHD & Executive Function Coach
I'm an ADHD and Executive Function Coach, educator, HR professional, and fellow ADHDer who believes there's a much better question than:
"Why can't I just do this?"
I'd rather ask:
"What's getting in the way, and what would make this easier for my brain?"
That shift changes things.
Instead of assuming you need more discipline, more motivation, or yet another planner, we get curious about what's actually happening and find a different way forward.
Try differently, not harder.
My Background
My background has given me the opportunity to see executive functioning from a lot of different angles.
As an educator, I've worked with students learning how to manage increasing expectations, responsibilities, and independence.
As an HR professional, I've seen smart, capable adults struggle behind the scenes with workload, organization, competing priorities, communication, and the invisible executive function demands of professional life.
And as an ADHD coach, I've helped clients stop trying to force themselves into systems that don't fit and start developing real-life tools that actually work with their brains.
I also know ADHD from the inside.
That combination of professional training, real-world experience, and lived experience shapes the way I coach.
My Approach
I don't believe there's one perfect planner, morning routine, productivity app, or beautifully color-coded system that's going to magically make your ADHD disappear.
Sorry. I would've bought it already. 😉
Instead, coaching with me is curious, collaborative, practical, and shame-free.
We'll look at where you're getting stuck.
We'll figure out what's getting in the way.
Then we'll experiment with strategies until we find something that works for you.
And when something stops working?
We don't declare you a failure.
We change the system.
Because sometimes the answer isn't doing more, pushing harder, or finally becoming the perfectly organized person you think you're supposed to be.
Sometimes you just need a different way to get there.
Why Executive Function Coaching?
Executive function skills are involved in so much of everyday life: starting tasks, managing time, organizing information, prioritizing, remembering what needs to happen next, shifting between tasks, and following through.
When those skills are challenged, it can be incredibly frustrating, especially when you know you're capable of doing the thing you're struggling to do.
That's one of the reasons I'm drawn to this work.
I love helping people move away from:
"I should be able to do this."
and toward:
"Okay. This isn't working. What could work better?"
There's no gold star for doing something the hardest possible way.
What I Want for You
My goal isn't for you to need a coach forever.
It's for you to understand your brain better, strengthen the executive function skills that support your everyday life, and build a toolkit you know how to use when things change.
Whether you're navigating college, managing the demands of your professional life, or figuring out what works for you during a transition, we'll start where you are.
We experiment.
We adjust.
We keep what works.
We let go of what doesn't.
Less forcing. More flowing.
