A life well lived π΄π΅
"Please, Sir. Take my seat."
"Well, only if you're not older than me."
"How old are you?"
"I'm 91 years old and my wife and I are here celebrating our tenth anniversary!" π₯³
This was the conversation Jay and I had with a lovely couple last night as we waited for our tables.
Joe retired from the Navy as a Master Chief in 1967. He worked another 20 years in civil service when he retired again. He and Carol, both widowed, met at a veterans function. They now enjoy traveling together with a number of cruises under their belt. π§³π’
Coincidentally, that morning I asked Jay to imagine our life twenty years from now. That puts us in our 70's, by the way. π¬
Ken Honda, author of Happy Money: The Japanese Art of Making Peace with Your Money, defines wealth as loving who you are, enjoying where you are, and enjoying what you have.
One way he suggests to figure out YOUR definition of wealth is to imagine yourself 20 years from now in the areas of family, friends and community, health, spirituality and personal growth, work, impact in the world, and finances.
Notice how finances isn't the only area to consider? πΈ
With the life expectancy of females born in 2020 in the United States at 81 and males in the United States at 76, that's a whole lot of living ahead of us!
(By the way, Canada has better life expectancy rates of 84 for females and 80 for males.) π¨π¦π
So tell me, what does your life look like in twenty years?
Jay and I hope to be as healthy and vibrant as Joe and Carol! π
Comment below and let me know!
Love,
Kat π€π
