My favorite hobby + why I make time for it
My mom and aunt were natural born teachers. They were always grading papers or getting their lessons ready for the weekly Bible study.
Needless to say, I grew up around a ton of paper and writing instruments.
Maybe that's where my love of all things stationary started.
Today, I have a collection of gel pens and journals that bring me such great joy! π
You know how some people say they have a favorite pen? Yeah, not me. Every day I pull out my pencil case and arrange them in ROYGBIV order. Whatever pen color lights me up for the day is the one I'm going to use to journal.
It doesn't matter how crazy things may get, I always make time to journal. I usually pull a card from Ashley Looker's Awaken Your Joy Journal Prompt Deck or I free write about my day, especially when I'm feeling "off" and have no idea why.
Btw, did you know according to Dr. Russell Barkley, author and clinical professor of psychiatry at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, because of our nonverbal and verbal working memory issues it can be harder for us ADHDers to process things in our minds? So writing things out really helps to put things in perspective for us.
What about you? What's your favorite hobby? Inquiring minds want to know. π€π
Until next time! π€π
