The Stress Less Financial Checklist
Damn. That hurt!
I heard actual gasps from every corner of the room when the vice president of our department announced that someone other than me had received the Employee of the Month award.
There was good reason behind those gasps. Over the past month, I had created an underwriting tool that saved the company $12,000 and come into the office at midnight for four consecutive Fridays to ensure that our antiquated system uploaded information successfully to the state registry.
How could my enormous efforts go unrecognized?
Like, really?? What. The. Hell.
While killing myself to prove my worth, I was encouraging unrealistic expectations of me because I didn’t feel confident enough to speak up and say that it was just too much.
My health was suffering, and my relationships were nonexistent. And yet, I pushed myself harder and harder each day to strive for the gold star that would always be just beyond my reach.
Do you ever feel that way when it comes to your business and personal finances? Like you’re working and working but not seeing the financial freedom you hoped for as an entrepreneur?
Maybe you feel resentful. And exhausted. You keep pushing yourself, but you’re not getting the results you want.
I’ve so been there — and back. Here are my hard-won lessons and top three tips for releasing financial pressure.
1 | Identify your money season.
Your money season refers to the stage in which you find yourself in your life and business. Your money season will look and feel different from one period to another.
Are you transitioning your business from side hustle to full-time gig?
Are you scaling?
Are you outsourcing more tasks?
Money seasons are temporary cycles in the life of your business, and they can be difficult. On top of everything you're already going through, do you really want to beat yourself up just because your financial picture doesn’t look a certain way?
No way, Chica. Identify your money season and then give yourself some grace.
2 | Schedule a Money Mapping session.
Money Mapping is all about creating realistic, magnetic financial goals that you’re excited to reach. We work together to set goals that are totally achievable and feel great along the way.
Seeking an outside perspective on creating wealth and confidence in your finances may be just what the doctor ordered to get back your financial mojo.
3 | Determine your priorities.
Take a moment to write down the five most important things in your life right now. This process will help you highlight what's essential for you and guide you to invest the energy you have available in the things that bring you the most bang for your buck.
Don’t do what my boss did to me. Choose yourself as Employee of the Month in your own business.
Release your money stress and embrace confidence in your business and personal finances.
And listen, girl, there is nothing wrong with asking for help. Let’s connect and put together a plan customized for you and your money season.
You got this!
